What is the minimum age for piercing?Inverness Piercing: There is no minimum or maximum age for Lobe piercing, it is mainly safe to pierce even newborn babies to seniors. However for newborns there is no rush, we recommend to pierce your baby after her DPT vaccination. Cartilage piercing is NEVER RECOMMENDED to be done on children (18 years old and below). Due to its longer heal-time (around 12 weeks) & more-delicate aftercare process; We require minimum 18 years of age (and a valid ID) for cartilage piercings. Needle Piercing: We only recommend for Adults (minimum 18 years of age).
-
What types of piercings do you offer? We only pierce ears and nostril at this time. You can see our Ear Chart here: Flat, Tragus, Conch, Forward Helix, Rook & Daith piercing are only available with Needle Piercing at Tindik Grand Indonesia & Tindik Plaza Senayan.

How do you pierce? We offer piercings with Inverness® hand pressurized device and needles. All piercings are done by licensed nurses. Inverness® piercing system is one of the safest & most hygienic piercing system from USA. Inverness® uses hand-pressurized device that is gentle, fast, and precise. The system features pre-sterilized earrings with a patented Safety Back™. No needles seen during the piercing process, It’s efficient for piercing the outer perimeter of the ear (Lobe and Helix Piercing). Safe for all ages. We recommend this method for kids and adults who prefer it. We also offer hollow needle piercings which is normally the preferred choice for adults. Sterile & disposable Abocath needle (size: 18G to 16G) will be used to perform this needle piercing. Needle piercing can reach placements such as conch, forward helix, tragus, and flat that are not possible with Hand-pressurized device. Needle piercings are easier to downsize your cartilage piercings. All you need to do is change to a shorter flatback and you can keep the stud.

How many piercings can I get at once?To prevent infection and severe swelling we can only pierce 4 holes total per appointment. This includes a maximum of 3 piercings per ear and 2 piercings maximum for the upper outer perimeter of the ear (Cartilage areas). If you wish to have more piercings done we require waiting a minimum of 8 weeks to allow proper healing before getting pierced again. If you're planning on having more than two piercings done, please book appointment slots to ensure that our nurses has plenty of time to complete the piercing process.

Can I bring my own earrings? No, Tindik Nurses are not able to pierce with earrings provided by the customer. We pride ourselves on our hygiene standards so we only use piercing earrings that come in sterile packaging. These earrings are made to be compatible with Inverness hand-pressurized instrument and hollow needles we use for the piercing process. Once your piercing is healed (in 1,5-3 months for a lobe piercing and 6-12 months for a cartilage piercing) you can change the jewelry to whatever style you like – just make sure to sanitize it first and use hypoallergenic, nickel-free earrings.

What is a Downsize? When should I Downsize My Piercing?Think of downsizing as a helpful and recommended step in the continuation of your healing process especially for cartilage piercings. Once your piercer decides that you are eligible to safely downsize your piercing earring, they will remove the longer flat-back post on the back of the earring you were initially pierced with, and insert a shorter post that has a tighter fit. When performing a new piercing, our piercers use a longer flatback post. The reason for using a longer post is because a piercing is ultimately a puncture wound and the body's response to that puncture wound is often swelling. We place a longer post to allow for the anticipated swelling and promote airflow for optimal healing. Once the swelling settles (don't worry, swelling is normal for a new piercing) and the post has that added slack moving back and forth, it creates friction - that friction creates inflammation that in turn can result in unnecessary friction bumps. Your piercing will look and feel better after downsizing with a shorter post.

How does the Inverness Hand-Pressurized Device work? Is it the same as piercing gun?Hand pressure means the piercer has a full control of the power omitted during the piercing process; which means a gentler and personalized experience overall. It is not the same as a piercing gun, in fact, we cringe when people call our piercing instrument a gun. Unlike our specially engineered hand-pressured instrument, piercing guns are spring-loaded and LOUD. Piercing gun “shoot” the piercing earring through the lobe/cartilage. Our hand-pressured instrument is designed to pierce the ear quickly & accurately in one smooth, quiet, hand-pressured motion. Inverness hand instrument also has a fully enclosed system, so no needle will be seen. This is perfect for those who fear sharp needles/injections.
-
What makes the Inverness System "safe"?Inverness is the only ear-piercing system with fully enclosed earring capsules that prevent our piercing earrings and exclusive Safety Back™ from being exposed to potential contaminants prior to piercing. Our earring capsules are sealed in sterilized cartridges that are not opened until selected for piercings. Unlike other systems on the market, our earrings are not exposed until they are safely inserted in the ear. Our exclusive Safety Back™ allows for the safest healing possible by shielding the piercing tip and preventing the earring back from being squeezed too tight. This allows for proper airflow and prevents the earring back from becoming embedded during the healing process.
-
Why do you say "gentle"?Most people report they feel no discomfort at all when pierced with the Inverness System. Here's Why: Unlike loud piercing guns that shoot a spring-loaded piercing earring through the tissue, our hand-pressured instrument is smooth and quiet. Our system will pierce your ears and attach our exclusive Safety Back™ in one quick, smooth motion. Our piercing earrings are specially design with ultra-thin piercing posts & a finely honed piercing tip to help the earrings glide through the lobe as easily as possible
-
Is it safe for newborns? All of our piercing earrings contain no nickel, safe for sensitive skin even for newborn babies. However, there is no need to rush! You can wait for a few months and even years, the process will still be the same; Fast & painless. It is also good to wait until your baby has their DPT vaccine prior to their piercing.
-
Hygiene?Hands down hygiene is our top priority! We use double sterilization process: Sealed, Sterile & Disposable cartridge only! We also sterilize all metal tools including the hand device using UVC pre and post procedure. Mask & gloves are a must! Alcohol swab before & after the procedure.
-
Why should I pierce with needle?Needle piercing allows more piercing placement that a hand-pressurized device cannot reach, such as Flat, Conch, Tragus and Forward-Helix. All of our piercing jewelry is made of high-quality metals: Implant Grand Titanium F136, 14k or 18k solid gold. Following APP (Association of Professional Piercers) recommendation; these 3 materials are considered to be the safest & most-biocompatible to human body & skin. Thus resulting to better acceptance and better healing for your piercings :) All Tindik’s piercing earrings are hypoallergenic & pre-sterilized with 134° hospital-grade autoclave prior usage. We only pierce with internally threaded flat-back and stud earrings. The flat-back is more comfortable and secure, especially for cartilage piercings. It's easier to downsize your cartilage piercings. All you need to do is change to a shorter flat-back and you can keep the stud that you are pierced with.
-
Can I get pierced with the same piece of jewelry twice? We cannot pierce with the same jewelry twice, even if it’s Tindik jewelry. All piercings must be done by new Tindik jewelry, as all of our piercing jewelry is pre-sterilized. You must purchase a Tindik piercing earrings to be pierced. To ensure optimal healing, it is safest to start with new, untouched and sterilized jewelry every time.
